Peter Miller, his wife Caroline, and his sister Mary Anne inherited the property from Peter and Mary Anne’s grandparents, who purchased it after arriving from Hungary in the 1920s. About 20 years ago, Peter began working with his neighbors to conserve a large block of privately owned forest land through the Forest Legacy program. The Forest Legacy easement closed in 2021 and includes most of the wooded portions of the property. The owners intentionally excluded their farm fields from the deal in order to preserve them with an agricultural easement.
